a grid full of one digit — and one impostor. find it before time runs out
About
Dialed GG Hidden Number is a number eye test: every round fills a grid with copies of one digit — and hides exactly one impostor digit among them. Your job is to find the different number and tap it before the timer runs out. Each round you survive, the grid gets bigger and the impostor digit gets harder to tell apart from the rest — from obviously different digits down to lookalike pairs like 8 vs 9 and 5 vs 6.
It is the same format as the viral “find the 8 among the 9s” puzzles that spread across social feeds — except here every grid is generated fresh, the clock is running, and your score is on the line. Five rounds make a game, scored out of 50.
Built for anyone searching hidden number game, find the different number, or a quick number eye test to see how sharp their digit discrimination really is.
How It Works
One digit fills every tile, and one tile shows a different number. Rounds start small with obviously different digits.
Click or tap the tile whose number doesn’t match. One guess per round: a wrong tap scores zero, so look before you leap.
Speed is score. Spot the odd number instantly for 10 points; take your time and keep 2–6. Five rounds, max 50.
Difficulty
Two dials turn at once as you progress. The grid snowballs — 4×4 (16 tiles) up to 12×12 (144 tiles) on Easy, while Hard nearly doubles in size every round: 8×8 (64 tiles) grows to 16×16 (256 tiles) by round five, so there are simply more tiles to scan. And the digit pair gets crueler: Easy rounds use clearly different digits like 1 vs 7 or 3 vs 9, while Hard rounds hide lookalikes — 8 among 9s, 6 among 5s, 0 among 6s — pairs your eyes genuinely confuse at a glance.
By the final Hard round you are scanning two hundred and fifty-six near-identical digits on a 20-second clock. That round is a genuine digit-discrimination stress test.

Benefits
Distinguishing lookalike digits is the same skill proofreaders, data-entry pros, and pilots train. Each round is a focused rep.
Odd Color tests shade discrimination; Hidden Number tests shape discrimination. Same eyes, different sense — play both.
Seeded rooms mean friends get identical grids. Winner is eyesight, not luck.
No signup, no download. Works on phone and desktop. A full five-round game takes under two minutes.
FAQ
A number perception challenge: a grid full of one digit hides a single tile with a different number. Tap the odd number before the timer runs out. Five rounds, scored out of 50.
Same find-the-impostor format, different sense. Odd Color hides a tile in a slightly different shade — you discriminate color. Hidden Number hides a lookalike digit — you discriminate shape.
Easy snowballs from 4×4 up to 12×12 grids using clearly different digits (1 vs 7, 3 vs 9). Hard starts at 8×8 and climbs to 16×16 — 256 tiles, with the grid nearly doubling every round — hiding lookalikes: 8 among 9s, 5 among 6s, 0 among 6s, with the clock loosening as the grid grows.
Spotting the odd number instantly earns 10 points for the round. The longer you take, the fewer points you keep (down to 2). A wrong tap or a timeout scores 0.
Above 40/50 is excellent — that usually means surviving the final lookalike round. Most first sessions land between 20 and 35.
No. It is a game, not a medical test. If you have concerns about your vision, see an eye care professional.
